The Grade S Screw Pin Bow Shackle (AS 2741) is a premium, high-strength lifting component designed to provide secure, easily adjustable connections across a wide range of demanding industrial rigging applications.
Suitable for use in various industrial applications, our Grade 'S' bow shackles with screw pins allow for a secure connection to chains, wire ropes, and other rated fittings. The bow shape handles multiple loading directions better than Dee shackles, making them versatile for rigging.
Easy to adjust and ideal for operations requiring frequent connecting and disconnecting, these shackles feature raised markings for easy identification during use and visual inspections.

Type: Use Anchor (Bow) shackles for multi-leg systems or where side loading may occur. Use Chain (Dee) shackles for straight-line pulls.
Pin Type:
• Screw Pin: Suitable for general, non-permanent purposes.
• Bolt Type (Safety Pin): Essential for long-term installations or where the pin may rotate under load.
Avoid Side Loading: Position the shackle so the body takes the load along its center line. Use spacers if necessary to center the load on the pin.
Tightening: Tighten screw pins by hand, then lock with a small bar. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the body. For bolt types, ensure the split cotter pin is fitted.
Choke Hitches: Place the pin through the eye of the sling. Never place the pin in contact with the "bight" of the choke or moving parts, as friction can unscrew the pin.
Storage: Store in a clean, dry place protected from corrosion. Never modify or galvanize a shackle without supplier approval.
Inspection: Check regularly for: distorted/stretched bodies, bent pins, damaged threads, nicks, gouges, or corrosion. illegible markings. If any defect is found, refer to a Competent Person.
