The WRS-WS Cable Wedge Socket is a field-installable wire rope termination designed for mobile cranes and construction projects. Unlike spelter sockets, it requires no molten zinc or resin, allowing for quick on-site installation and rapid adjustment of cable length.

Provides a termination efficiency of 80% of the wire rope's breaking strength. (Note: For 100% efficiency, use Spelter Sockets).

Available for wire ropes from 9mm (3/8") to 32mm (1-1/4"). Commonly used in cranes, draglines, mining, and excavators.

⚠️ Safe Use & Installation Guide
  • Alignment: The loaded part of the steel rope must be in direct line with the center of the pin.
  • Preparation: Ensure the rope end is properly welded/seized and not frayed before inserting it into the wedge socket.
  • Seating: Before putting the equipment into use, ensure the wedge is firmly seated in place using a hammer.
  • Dead End: Secure the dead end tail with a Wire Rope Clip to prevent the wedge from dislodging if the load is momentarily relieved.
  • Inspection: Inspect the pin, socket, and wedge before and after each application for cracks or deformities.
