Stainless Steel Snap Hook

A stainless steel snap hook is a spring‑loaded connector used to quickly attach and detach ropes, chains, webbing, or cable, with stainless (often 316) providing high corrosion resistance for outdoor and marine use.

A snap hook has a body with an eye (fixed or swivel) and a spring‑loaded gate that opens under hand pressure and snaps shut automatically, preventing accidental disconnection under light to moderate load.

Stainless steel versions are commonly made in 304 or 316; 316 “marine grade” is preferred in saltwater and coastal environments because it resists pitting and rusting far better than plated or galvanized hooks.
